Southscope Releasing, ‘The Hindsight’ EP August 18th

For Immediate Release

Southscope are a sibling trio that was formed in early 2016. Songwriter and frontman Leon Stevens had spent five years previous to that living in Sweden.

After playing and gigging in a few different bands/ projects in Sweden and exploring the music scene of Stockholm, Leon has found himself back in Australia with a bunch of new songs and a keen excitement to create and share his new-found sound.

With his brother Tyrone on drums/vocals and sister Ruby on bass/vocals, the three of them bring their tight chemistry together to create an up beat alternative rock sound, accompanied with moody lyrics and catchy harmonies.

The lead single from the EP is ‘Selfless’. Leon says that the idea behind the track is, “about turning negative into positive! It can be so easy to dwell on the bad things and experiences that happen through life, but until you give a little back, humble yourself and take consequences for actions, you may stay in that rut forever!”

All songs off the Hindsight EP were produced, engineered and mixed by Zachary Miller at Target Hearts Studios. The EP was mastered by Simon Struthers at Forensic Audio.

The idea behind the Hindsight EP was to write 4 different tracks about 4 different times/experiences in my life that I’ve now gazed back on only to realize that hindsight is the only thing these songs/moments have in common now. I’ve tried to create a certain nostalgia in the music and lyrics that I hope people can connect with,” says Leon on the new release as a whole.
