COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M softball head coach Jo Evans announced the Aggies’ fall schedule Friday, which includes four doubleheaders at the Maroon & White Series at the Aggie Softball Complex with free admission beginning November 1.
“We are fortunate to be able to play a fall schedule,” Evans said. “Our main objective is to see our young players in action, for the freshmen to assimilate to our system and be on the field with our upperclassmen. We have a talented returning group, so it will be a good opportunity for them to get back on the field and to focus on leadership and mentoring our freshman class. It’s great to be able to compete against some of the best junior colleges in our state and assess some of the talent on those ball clubs as well as our own.”
The Aggies begin the fall slate on Wednesday, November 1 against Blinn College with a doubleheader starting at 4 p.m.
On Tuesday, November 7, Texas A&M hosts Temple College with a twinbill scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Two days later, the Aggies welcome Galveston College to Aggieland for a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.
McLennan College visits on Tuesday, November 14 with first pitches slated for 4 p.m and 6 p.m.
In the annual Maroon and White Series, a best-of-three intra-squad scrimmage, game one is scheduled for Friday, November 3 with game two slated for Monday, November 13. If necessary, game three will be played on Thursday, November 16.
The Blinn, Temple and McLennan doubleheaders can be heard locally on Willy 1550 AM or online at 12thMan.com/listen.
The Aggies are coming off their first appearance in the Women’s College World Series since 2008 and finished the campaign with a 47-13 ledger including a 16-7 mark in SEC play.
