Tennessee Softball Announces 2017 Fall Schedule


KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee softball announced its 2017 fall schedule Wednesday afternoon. The slate consists of eight games that will be played over five days during the months of September and October.

All eight contests will be played at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium and will be free to attend. The first games will take place on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 1:30 & 4 p.m. as the Volunteers take on Mars Hill University, which is a Division II program located in Mars Hill, N.C., and then face Volunteer State Community College.

Tennessee will play Lee University on Friday, Sept. 29 at 6 p.m., which is a Division III from Cleveland, Tenn. and then welcome Lipscomb University to campus on Sunday, Oct. 1.

UT will play a single game on Oct. 7 and a doubleheader on Oct. 8 as they welcome Chipola College and Chattanooga State. The Vols wrap up fall ball with an Oct. 15 matchup with Carson Newman.

The Big Orange are coming off their 14th consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament and hosted an NCAA Regional and Super Regional last year. The Volunteers went 48-12 last season and finished third in the SEC regular-season standings. They return 17 letterwinners from last year’s team, including five players that earned SEC postseason honors, including the Player and Freshman of the Year, and welcome four newcomers to the roster.

September 17
Mars Hill vs. Tennessee 1: 30 p.m.
Volunteer State vs. Tennessee 4 p.m.

September 29
Lee University vs. Tennessee 6 p.m.

October 1
Lipscomb vs. Tennessee 2 p.m.

October 7
Chipola College vs. Tennessee 1:30 p.m.

October 8
Chpola College vs. Tennessee 1 p.m.
Chattanooga State vs. Tennessee 3:30 p.m.

October 15
Carson Newman vs. Tennessee 1 p.m.
