Texas State softball team split their games on day one of the Texas A&M Invitational taking down Utah 6-1 before losing to Louisiana Tech 2-0. Then for the second straight day at the Texas A&M Invitational the team split their games defeating Louisiana Tech 6-2 before losing to host team Texas A&M 6-3.

Tennessee opened its home schedule with a 13-1 victory over Charleston Southern on Day 1 of the Tennessee Invitational then completed the Day 1 sweep with a 6-2 win over Toledo at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium. In day two action Tennessee defeated South Alabama 4-0 along with a 6-3 win over Charleston Southern. Tennessee then capped off an undefeated weekend at the Tennessee Invitational with a 2-0 victory over South Alabama on Sunday,

Texas lost a pitching duel to Arizona Friday evening by a score of 2-0. On Saturday though Texas defeated them 3-1 to pull the 3-game series even. On a rainy Sunday afternoon Arizona came to play and took win number two over Texas to secure the 3-game series by a score of 10-2.

The Washington Huskies went undefeated winning all 5 of their games this weekend in the Husky Classic lead by ace pitcher Taran Alvelo (11-0).

Pittsburgh fell to NC State in its ACC opener, 7-0, Friday evening at Dail Softball Stadium in Raleigh, N.C. Pitt got back on track though routing NC State in game two of the series 9-1, on Saturday afternoon. The University of Pittsburgh outlasted NC State 7-4 to win its first conference series of the season Sunday afternoon at Dail Softball Stadium in Raleigh, N.C.

South Carolina got a 12-1 win over Liberty in six innings on Friday night to start the Carolina Classic. In Saturday action S.C. got a 2-0 win over George Washington before closing the day out with a 5-2 victory against Marshall. In Sunday action South Carolina got an 11-3 win in five innings over Marshall to close the Carolina Classic at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field.

Michigan had a five-win weekend including a 3-1 win over the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns on Friday in the Judi Garman Classic.

Oregon suffered a 2-1 loss to Florida State at the Unconquered Invitational. The team went 4-1 for the weekend.

UCLA continues to roll along and improved to 19-0 this weekend. Redshirt sophomore Rachel Garcia lead the way with a grand slam and complete-game in the teams win on Sunday over Santa Clara 8-0.

Mizzou opened its 2018 home season Friday with victories over Southeastern Louisiana and Drake. The Tigers claimed an 8-0 run-rule win in five innings over the Lions in game one and got a 4-3 triumph against the Bulldogs in the nightcap game. Mizzou defeated Southeastern Louisiana 6-4 and Creighton 11-3 (5 innings) in game two Saturday. In Sunday doubleheader action the Tigers claimed an 8-0 run-rule victory (six innings) against the Creighton Bluejays in game one and posted a 10-3 triumph over the Drake Bulldogs in game two.

Texas A&M defeated Louisiana Tech, 1-0, before falling to Utah, 8-7, in day one of the A&M Invite, Friday at the Aggie Softball Complex. In day two action at the A&M invite Saturday they defeated Texas State, 6-3 and Utah, 1-0, with a one-hit performance at the Aggie Softball Complex by Aggies pitcher Trinity Harrington. Texas A&M concluded the A&M Invite with a 10-1 victory in 5 innings over Louisiana Tech on Sunday.

Florida opened the Judi Garman Classic with a pair of wins first over Loyola Marymount, 13-0, and host Cal State Fullerton, 10-0, both in five innings Thursday. In Saturday action Florida pitchers Kelly Barnhill and Aleshia Ocasio combined for a no-hitter in a 4-0 victory over Baylor.

Mississippi State got a 6-3 victory over Lamar Friday afternoon at Nusz Park to open the Bulldog Slamboree. In day two action Mississippi State defeated Mercer, 7-1, and Sam Houston State, 9-0. Mississippi State capped an undefeated weekend over the Bulldog Slamboree with a 5-0 victory over Sam Houston State on Sunday at Nusz Park.

Ole Miss got past UT Martin 10-2 in five innings on the opening day of the Ole Miss Classic Friday night. Next up they defeated Saint Louis 3-1 and Chattanooga on Day Two of the Ole Miss Classic by a score of 10-2 (5 innings).

Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns defeated Fresno State 7-2 in their contest at the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif. Then they split a pair of games as they wrapped up play in the Judi Garman Classic on Sunday including a 7-2 win over Fresno State followed by a loss to Baylor 1-0.
