As usual Florida’s Kelly Barnhill took care of business with her third complete-game no-hitter of the season in a 6-0 victory over Kentucky Friday evening at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium. Florida rallied back in the 7th inning Saturday night to defeat Kentucky 3-2 when Kayli Kvistad drove in the game-winning run with her walk-off RBI single that scored DeWitt from second base. Florida completed the series sweep of Kentucky with a 4-0 victory at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium Sunday afternoon moving the Gators to 22-1and moves ace pitcher Kelly Barnhill to 11-0.

Alabama softball head coach Patrick Murphy earned his 1,000th win at Alabama Friday night with their 5-0 win against Boston College. Murphy is the first head coach to earn 1,000 entirely at an SEC program. Alabama’s Alexis Osorio tied the NCAA record for strikeouts in a 7 inning game with 21 against Fordham as the Crimson Tide won 7-2 in their Easton Crimson Classic game.

Texas A&M’s Samantha Show tossed a no-hitter against Penn State in a 8-0 win for the Aggies in a early week game. Then Texas A&M defeated Incarnate Word, 7-0 and 8-3, in a doubleheader Wednesday at the Aggie Softball Complex. Texas A&M completed a sweep against Ole Miss with their 2-0 victory Sunday at the Aggie Softball Complex to win all three series games. The weekend series featured three strong performances from Aggie pitchers starting with game one starter, Trinity Harrington follow by Samantha Show in game two and then Lexi Smith.

In a Tuesday night error filled game Ole Miss fell to Boston College 8-2. Ole Miss scored five runs in the final two innings of Friday’s SEC opener at No. 7 Texas A&M but couldn’t complete the comeback, falling to the Aggies 8-6 at the Aggie Softball Complex. Ole Miss couldn’t get on track Saturday afternoon against Texas A&M as they lost game two in the series 7-0. Even with a strong pitching performance on Sunday from pitcher Kaitlin Lee Ole Miss couldn’t avoid the weekend sweep by Texas A&M.

Meghan Gregg hit a two-out Grand Slam in the sixth inning to lead Tennessee to a 7-4 win over Missouri on Friday night at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium. In Saturday action Tennessee got a 7-0 victory over Missouri. Lady Vols Freshman Gabby Sprang got the start but Matty Moss got the game win striking out seven batters and not allowing a hit over the final four innings. Tennessee completed the three-game sweep of Missouri on Sunday with an 11-3 win in six innings at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

On Wednesday a four-run first inning was all the runs Mississippi State needed to defeat Boston College 4-3 at Nusz Park. Mississippi State softball got the sweep over Illinois in Friday’s doubleheader at Nusz Park by scores of 9-5 and 12-1. Mississippi State earned its 8th & 9th straight wins of the season via run-rule in games over UMass Lowell to sweep Sunday’s doubleheader at Nusz Park by scores of 9-1 and 11-0.

The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns split their Saturday doubeheader with Coastal Carolina in their Sun Belt Conference opening series with both games ending with a score of 4-2. The Ragin’ Cajuns Softball claimed its Sun Belt Conference opening series with a 4-2 victory over Coastal Carolina in the rubber game of the weekend set on Sunday at CCU Softball Stadium.

Texas pitcher Brooke Bolinger struck out a career-high-tying 10 while tossing her first career one-hitter in the teams 1-0 victory over UTSA on Wednesday night.

The University of Pittsburgh earned a midweek split in its doubleheader with FIU, Wednesday evening at Felsberg Field in Miami. Pitt dropped the opener 8-0 in five innings before taking game two 2-0. Pitt then got a 6-1 victory over Ball State in the first game of the Parents’ Weekend Tournament hosted by FAU at FAU Softball Stadium. Pitt then earned their second win of the Parents’ Weekend Tournament Thursday evening defeating FAU 7-1. Pitt dropped back-to-back contests Saturday afternoon, falling to Michigan 3-2 and Rutgers 7-5 on day two of the Parents’ Weekend Tournament. In Sunday afternoon action Pitt lost to Stony Brook, 7-5 in the team’s final game of the Parents’ Weekend Tournament.

Texas State defeated Houston Baptist 5-3 on Wednesday evening at Bobcat Softball Stadium. Texas State then took two against Georgia State in the opening weekend of Sun Belt Conference action on Saturday afternoon blanking them 2-0 in game one and 5-4 in extra innings in game two.

South Carolina split its games in first day action at the OG&E Tournament in Norman, Okla. South Carolina defeated Illinois State 9-0 win in five innings before losing 4-2 to host team powerhouse Oklahoma. In Sunday OG&E Tournament action South Carolina softball split its final two tourney games defeating Indiana 7-3 before losing 5-1 to Oklahoma.
