Texas redshirt junior pitcher Erica Wright tied a single-season school record with her fifth save of 2018 Thursday evening in the first game of the team’s series against Iowa State. Texas won by a score of 8-5. On Friday afternoon the two teams went at it again with senior pitcher Paige von Sprecken getting the win in a near flawless performance in the opener of a doubleheader, 8-0 (5 inn.) followed by a series sweep win over Iowa State by a score of 11-4. Texas sophomore Kaitlyn Washington hit two HR’s, including her first career grand slam in the game. With the victory Texas had its first seven-game win streak since going unbeaten over the first 12 games to open the 2016 campaign and is now 6-0 to begin Big 12 action for the first time since 2013.

Tennessee after going 0-3 on the road last week at South Carolina the Lady Vols returned home to Sherri Parker Lee Stadium to face another tough SEC opponent in the Georgia Bulldogs. Meghan Gregg was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh in Saturday’s game to provide the only run as Tennessee defeated Georgia 1-0 at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium. In Sunday’s action Georgia’s bats came to life as they won 9-1 in a run rule six inning game.

Pittsburgh earned its fourth series conference win of the season after taking a doubleheader from Duke Saturday at Vartabedian Field in Pittsburgh by scores of 6-4 & 8-4.

Texas State earned two more Sun Belt Conference victories, clipping the Georgia Southern Panthers twice at Bobcat Softball Stadium on Friday afternoon. In game one, the Bobcats defeated the Eagles, 6-1 before making a late-inning comeback in game two, winning 5-4. Texas State then earned a three-game sweep over Sun Belt Conference opponent Georgia Southern by winning the third game of the series by a score of 3-0 behind a strong performance from pitcher Randi Rupp.

Texas A&M defeated South Carolina, 3-0, in the series opener Friday evening at the Aggie Softball Complex. Trinity Harrington earned her 10th win and sixth shutout of the season as the senior held the Gamecocks to just four hits while allowing only one walk and striking out five. Texas A&M defeated South Carolina, 2-1, in a pitcher’s duel Saturday at the Aggie Softball Complex. Aggie starter Samantha Show got the win while pitching her ninth complete game of the season. South Carolina managed to salvage their weekend by taking the third game 5-3, in the series finale Sunday at the Aggie Softball Complex.

Mississippi State lost to Arkansas Friday night at Bogle Park by a score of 3-2. Mississippi State couldn’t get anything going on Saturday afternoon as they lost again to Arkansas 6-0. In Sunday action Mississippi State lost again 8-2 to get swept by Arkansas in the weekend series.

Ole Miss dropped their series opener against Auburn by a score of 3-1. Rebel pitcher Kaitlin Lee pitched well in the circle but took the loss allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk over seven innings. Ole Miss suffered another loss in its Saturday afternoon game at the Ole Miss softball Complex to Auburn by a 5-1 score. In Sunday afternoon’s game Amanda Roth hit a solo home run giving Ole Miss a 3-2 walk off victory over Auburn. Kaitlin Lee went all eight innings for the Rebels picking up the win.

Oklahoma with their 4-1 series sweeping win over Baylor on Saturday the team has now extended their winning streak to 22 games. As usual Oklahoma’s Paige (Parker) & Paige (Lowary) duo combined in the circle for the win.

Mizzou dropped both games of its Friday doubleheader to LSU. The host Tigers fell 2-1 in 10 innings in game one and 9-2 in the nightcap at Mizzou Softball Stadium. Mizzou Softball salvaged a win on Saturday afternoon as junior Regan Nash’s walk-off hit with two outs in the seventh secured a 5-4 series finale victory over LSU.

Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns captures a doubleheader sweep, 7-1 and 5-4 (8 inn.) over South Alabama Friday in a Easter Weekend series at Lamson Park. The Ragin’ Cajuns got a 3-2 win over South Alabama which completed a Sun Belt series sweep for them at Lamson Park Saturday.

Florida picked up three victories on Saturday after defeating Hampton, 7-0, and Jacksonville twice, 2-1 & 4-0. The Gators resumed a halted game from yesterday with the Dolphins before competing in the finale full game of the day.

Washington picked up a 10-0 win over the Stanford Cardinal Friday in run-rule (6 inn.) victory and then on Saturday got a 9-0 win.

Oregon lead by pitcher Megan Kleist got a 4-1 win over rival Oregon State on Thursday to open their three-game series. In game two Gwen Svekis tied the game up with a solo homer in the top of the seventh but Oregon State used a walkoff single to get the 4-3 Friday afternoon in Corvallis. In deciding game three Oregon got a 5-1 win to take the series.

UCLA The Bruins got a 9-4 victory on Saturday at Dumke Family Softball Stadium to complete a weekend sweep over Utah. UCLA won Thursday’s opening game 9-5 and Fridays by a score of 7-3.
