The Brummies release video for “Drive Away ft. Kacey Musgraves”

Nashville-based rock band, The Brummies, have released their music video for “Drive Away ft. Kacey Musgraves” first exclusively on Apple Music and now wide to all digital partners.

The video, directed and produced by Blythe Thomas, was shot in Nashville, TN in late May and features band members Jacob Bryant, John Davidson, and Trevor Davis against the backdrop of a retro ranch style home and a 1960’s Buick Le Sabre intertwined with dreamy, galactic footage brilliantly pieced together by Thomas.

“The song feels like you’re truly driving off into elsewhere,” said Thomas. “We all were separately inspired by the song having this outer space layering to it. I wanted to take that celestial effect, that left of center feeling, and place it at the forefront of the visual. The hope was that someone who watched this video would experience that same transfixed viewing just like if you were to go to a planetarium and get lost staring up at the stars and space around you. To be hypnotized by what your eyes are taking in, as the song leads you through the experience.”

“Drive Away feat. Kacey Musgraves” has been lauded by the press with Billboard calling it a “gorgeous song” and “shimmering pop track” while Rolling Stone says “The flirtatious vocal interplay between Musgraves and the Brummies (a band of music geeks from Birmingham, Alabama, that includes the duo formerly known as John & Jacob) makes for a track as intriguing as its escapist premise.” To date, the song has been featured on BBC Radio Scotland, Lightning 100, Birmingham Mountain Radio, among others.

The Brummies will be playing at the upcoming festivals, Sloss Fest and Electric Picnic. They will be opening for BANNERS this fall, with a run overseas (London, Manchester, Bingley, etc) in September, and a show later that month at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

“Drive Away feat. Kacey Musgraves” is found on the band’s debut album, Eternal Reach, available now.
