Based out of Chandler, Arizona, No Lungs is cruising from one exciting project to another. They have effortlessly
blurred the boundaries of rock, shifting from scream-along punk choruses and pulling heartstrings through lo-fi
bedroom ballads. Now they are coming back to where it all started, officially releasing a re-recorded and remastered
version of their first album “These Threads Lead Somewhere.”
No Lungs, the moniker of multi-instrumentalist Austin Ryan, has earned praise from Arena and Car Seat Headrest,
while invoking the spirit of Cloud Nothings, Titus Andronicus and Japandroids. No Lungs sprung onto the indie circuit with two LPs, “These Threads Lead Somewhere” and “Never Live It Down,” mixing aggressive punk and indie into a tight blend with a driving energy. After two full releases and hot on the heels of a feature on Gloom’s Built to Spill compilation, No Lungs returns by re-recording and perfecting their first record. Ryan plays every instrument on the albums while providing lead vocals, as he has with every No Lung release to date. Tracks like “Little Heart Attacks” and “Ghosts Don’t Know” are raucous shout-alongs, while the stripped-down “It’s a Marathon, Not a Sprint,” provides a unique sense of intimacy. This revamp pushes No Lungs to new levels, ready to be blasted at music festivals or through your car radio on summer road trips.
