Gretchen Keskeys Returns with Sophomore Album ‘Pure Hope’

Just one year after the release of her debut album, singer-songwriter Gretchen Keskeys is back with her sophomore release, “Pure Hope” (Creative Soul Records) – available May 26, 2017 at all major digital outlets including iTunes.

Christian music fans quickly embraced Keskeys, who CCM Magazine Contributing Editor Andy Argyrakis said “may very well possess the most magnificent voice since Sandi Patty.” Keskeys spent the last year performing at events and women’s conferences nationwide, openly sharing her songs alongside an inspirational testimony detailing her miraculous deliverance from anxiety and depression.

From the outside, Keskeys would not appear to be the ideal candidate for crippling anxiety and depression. Her parents were the authors of the best-selling self-help book “I’m OK – You’re OK,” while her father was named by LIFE Magazine as “the father of pop psychology.” But it was her faith that proved to be the ultimate answer to paralyzing fear and insecurity.

Since the release of her debut album, Keskeys has connected with listeners from literally every walk of life, from fellow Christians at various stages in their faith, to those of any belief background struggling with addictions, some recovering from suffering abuse and others trying to get back on their feet following a season of homelessness. Keskeys’ own personal struggles have provided her with the unique ability to resonate with a vast audience facing unlimited circumstances. But she’s also quick to credit some of her previous experiences in the media and entertainment industries as giving her the proper tools to communicate to such a wide variety of people. Whether it was her earliest opportunities as a page at NBC, landing roles on a primetime special, several soap operas, writing for the nightly news, studying at the Beverly Hills Playhouse or receiving her Screen Actors Guild card, the multitude of experiences forged a lifelong commitment to preparation and professionalism, and later provided inspiration for her as an artist.

“I think my favorite thing about writing the news was the ‘kickers,’ which is the last story of the newscast and one where you often get to have fun with plays on words,” she recalls. “I loved using my creativity writing those stories and I find songwriting has similarities searching for just the right word in the right spot to create the best story! In between acting and being an artist, I mostly missed expressing myself, but now in my music and worship leading, I have found that again and it brings me such joy to share my deepest heart for who Christ is, what He has done, what He is doing and what He promises to do. I am truly fulfilled.”

Produced by Eric Copeland for Creative Soul Records and mixed by GRAMMY winner Ronnie Brookshire (Michael McDonald, CeCe Winans, Michael W. Smith, Sandi Patty), Keskey’s enlisted an all-star list of Nashville’s finest session players to bring her new songs to life. And while early indications are that “Pure Hope” will be well-received, Keskeys’ remains more focused on a higher purpose… “My greatest thrill is for these songs to be heard, enjoyed and to help people find hope in the Lord. A lot of the messages I receive and answer come from people who are really struggling, and oh how I understand. But I also know that everything people are needing and looking for is found in Christ! I just love ministering, connecting and sharing that hope!”

First Single “You Redeem” Going for Adds at Radio

Nashville, Tenn. (Feb. 2017) – Even with twelve years as a successful Christian music artist under his belt, Aaron Shust takes on new territory with his latest project: his first live album. Shust’s new record for Centricity Music, Love Made A Way, is scheduled for release March 10. Working with producer Nathan Nockels (Matt Redmond, Chris Tomlin), Shust delivers both familiar worship anthems and powerful new songs in the 11-song collection. This includes Shust’s latest single “You Redeem,” which is currently top 40 at Christian Radio and rising. The single garnered 12 out of the box adds from WRBS Baltimore, MD , KLJY St. Louis, MO, SOS Network, Fish Portland, OR, Word FM Network, WCLN Fayetteville, NC, WHPZ South Bend, IN, KCVO Columbia, MO, WJTL Lancaster, PA, WCHR Hagerstown, MD, WLJN Traverse City, MI, and KYCC Stockton, CA. The song’s performance video gives an early sample of what Shust’s record showcases – his special ability to engage others in genuine, meaningful worship. This spirit of worship is the heart of the recording and Shust’s passion.

“I’ve always said that in a concert setting I want people to worship, so to have people singing along on the album is pretty magnificent,” Shust says. “When I invited people to be a part of this live album recording, I wanted to make sure they wanted to worship. I didn’t just want them to be spectators. I wanted them to be desirous of entering into the presence of God, raising their hands and closing their eyes if they wanted to, and that’s how the night was. It was a genuine experience of worship.”

For Love Made A Way, Shust features vocalists such as Matt Hammitt, Christy Nockels, Grayson|Reed’s Molly Reed and For All Season’s Emily Hamilton on the album. Listeners will recognize classic praise songs such as “Ever Be,” “Cornerstone” and Shust’s career staple “My Savior My God,” but they’ll hear them performed like never before— an intentional decision from Shust.

“This was a chance to take some of the songs we play live every night and freshen up the recordings,” he says. “But I also wanted to write new songs and offer new thoughts, new praises and new worship.”

These new songs came from Shust’s inspiration to write bold music celebrating the Lord and proclaiming His strength. This is seen in the declaration of God’s power to turn trials into blessings in “You Redeem,” as well as the humble trust of God’s promise to guide in “Lead On (King Eternal).” All of the songs reflect Shust’s desire to lead worship for a worthy, unfailing God. While this radiates throughout all the music of the singer-songwriter’s decade-long career, Love Made A Way delivers the message in a captivating way that will connect with listeners from start to finish. For Shust, it’s been a challenging adventure worth pursuing.

“Hitting the 10-year mark, it felt like a new season,” Shust says of deciding to take the plunge and create the live album. “We had a guest speaker recently at our church talk about how God is a God of celebration. God wanted to make sure His people were able to remember and celebrate their past. I felt that after 10 years, it was time to celebrate.”

Shust is preparing for his “Love Made A Way” release tour, beginning in March. For more information about Shust, http://www.aaronshust.com and http://www.facebook.com/aaronshust.

The Lasting Hope’s new single, “Stars in the Morning”

thelastinghopevandals
Look for a New EP coming digitally everywhere soon!

Song explanation- Our new song “Stars in the Morning” is about the comfort we have knowing that God is in control even when we can’t see his plan. The stars are still in the sky even in the morning when we are unable to view them. God is always working in our lives and will reveal his plan in His perfect timing.

The Lasting Hope is a band from southern Indiana with a desire to reach this generation with the Gospel through not only their music, but their lives. The Lasting Hope was formed in 2010 by Logan Oakes (Lead Vocals/Guitar) and Craig Banister (Guitar).

The band started leading worship at local churches that year which provided valuable experience. For the next few years, The Lasting Hope would continue to progress and continue to spread their ministry. The band later added Tanner Marling on bass and Braxton Comer on drums.

In 2013 the band headed into the studio with Mark Lee Townsend (former guitarist of DC Talk, Producer for Relient K, Owl City, House of Heroes, The Wedding, and more). The Lasting Hope released their first single in October of 2013. The band released their first EP in 2014 titled ‘Sunsets & Second Chances’. This EP featured two singles, “Something New” and “Lifeline.” Both songs found their way onto the Billboard Christian Rock Radio Airplay chart. “Something New” peaked at #5 in September of 2014 and “Lifeline” reached #20 in April of 2015.

The band played over 60 shows in 2014 throughout the midwest, where they developed their engaging and high energy stage show. In 2015, the band entered the studio once again with Mark Lee Townsend to work on new material. The band picked up their touring schedule heavily in 2015 playing nearly 100 shows (booked solely by lead singer Logan Oakes) across the country.

The Lasting Hope has had the opportunity to open for artists such as, Toby Mac, Mandisa, Ryan Stevenson, 7eventh Time Down, Hawk Nelson, Switchfoot, Mercy Me, Colton Dixon, and more. The band released their second EP, ‘Vandals’, in February of 2016. The Lasting Hope continued crafting their sound and in April of 2016, entered the studio with Jarrod Ingram and Blake Hubbard, formally of Royal Tailor. Through this process, the band has created a fresh pop/rock sound that is current and suitable for radio.
